Kenneth Blake was born to entertain
Kenneth was born to entertain with his parents being successful in the industry it didn't take long for Kenneth to sprout his wings and take off.
Kenneth first hit the stage at age seven at his elementary school talent show. Kenneth and a few school mates sang danced and won the show, he knew then he wanted to be on stage.
Kenneth started extensive singing and dancing lessons he also played the piano and violin.
It wasn't long before he auditioned for the Tucson Arizona Boys' Choir and was picked up immediately this was his first time touring and pleasing audiences around the world. While touring with the Choir Kenneth was exposed to all genres of song and dance.
Although The Arizona Boys' Choir was compared to the Vienna Boys Choir, They didn't just sing traditional music they preformed the full spectrum from Broadway to Rock-N-Roll and everything in between, it was the perfect training for what was to come.
For his 16th birthday his Mom took him to see the Broadway smash hit La Cage Aux Folles and the light bulb went off, he started perfecting his craft immediately.
If you know the business side of female impersonation most if not everyone starts out on a dirt road and no one gets your name out there but you.
Kenneth soon entered the pageant scene and started picking up title after title; Miss Gay Tucson in 1997, Miss Gay Arizona American in 1998 and Miss Gay Western States America in 2001 to name a few.
Kenneth was noticed by producer Dan Gore, Gore offered Kenneth a job in Palm Springs California, sharing the stage with Las Vegas icon Kenney Kerr. The show lasted one season, Gore then asked Kenneth to join his show Carnival Cabaret in Lake Tahoe Nevada, where Kenneth got to really stretch his "wigs", he performed as Marilyn Monroe, Reba Macintyre, Celine Dion and Dolly Parton it was his spot-on impersonation of Madonna that got Las Vegas to notice Kenneth.
Kenneth was asked to audition for Norbert Aleman owner and producer of the world-renowned franchise An Evening at La Cage, the pinnacle of female impersonation shows at the time. In just a matter of weeks Kenneth's dream came true, preforming his female impersonations on the Las Vegas strip. It wasn't his impeccable impersonation of Madonna or his dazzling performance of Dolly Parton, Kenneth preformed Charles Aznavour's, What Makes A Man A Man, the song describes the life of a female impersonator, Kenneth entered the stage as a beautiful woman, he strips off his drag reveling himself to be just like every other man, it was this closing number that was most memorable of the entire show.
Watch his iconic performance here.
Unfortunately, the show suddenly shut down with no warning, no notice, it was a tragic turn of events but like all the other obstacles Kenneth faced in life, he hiked up his skirt put on his ass kicking pumps and started touring the United States.
Kenneth being more than a pretty face, He not only makes and maintains many of his own costumes and recreates the iconic hair styles of the famous ladies he impersonates he also creates and supplies wig styles and makeup for other Las Vegas headliners and celebrities.A few months after the tragic shut down of An Evening At La Cage Kenneth was approached my Frank Marino to join the cast of his new Las Vegas Strip show Diva's Las Vegas and Kenneth jumped back onto the big stage.
That return back to the Las Vegas Strip sparked Kenneth's historic reality show, Diva's Dish Live, a reality show streamed live from backstage of the longest running show in Vegas. While Kenneth turned himself into legendary Divas he would chat and have the other cast members on, you never knew what Diva would show up.
After a 20 year run on the Las Vegas Strip the Divas Las Vegas show was shut down again with no notice.
Again faced with another big show shutting down Kenneth produced his own show and is now headlining in his, Stars -n- Stiletto's and is also entertainment director for Hamburger Mary's Las Vegas.
